using paypall

I would like to warn sellers about paypall

Last year, I sold am item (160), received paypall payment, dispatched item and received ve feedback.

Luckily I had not left feedback at this stage.

Paypall then froze money in my account and sent an email asking details of postage etc..

The buyer had confirmed address and was verified and I dispatched by royal mail special delivery so had tracking details as proof buyer received item.

Even after all this, Paypall withdrew the money from my account, and I got nowhere trying to get it back either directly from buyer or from paypall or ebay -paypall said they did not receive my email regarding postage details within the required time scale (even though I qualified fot seller protection). I had replied and the email was eventually found during investigation by the Financial Ombudsman.

I got my money back and 50 compensation

Beware of paypall and only use if covered by seller protection ie buyer is verified with confirmed address. Send to confirmed address only and keep proof of dispatch.

If paypall freeze money, be sure to reply promptly and keep copies of emails

Items missing in the post

I have recently won a dispute regarding an Item that allegedly went missing in the post ( the person in question knows who she is). I approached the seller in a polite manner asking for a replacement or a refund this she refused to do and said that it was my responsibility to claim from the Post Office via their claims procedure which would take 3-4 months. This seller was wrong on two counts, first : she entered into a contract with me to supply goods I had purchased ,if she could not supply them there she have been a replacement or refund. Second : It is the sellers responsibility to claim from the post office as they entered into an paid agreement that the Post Office would deliver the goods, it is not the buyers responsibility as there was no agreement between the buyer an Royal Mail.

The main point here is that the seller is responsible for claiming from the Post Office so dont be fobbed off with that laim old excuse ''it must have been lost in the post''. There are too many unscrupulous sellers trying it on.

How To Find Rare Tess Gerritsen Books

Hi,

This is for all fans of Tess Gerritsen books. If your after finding some of the rarer titles such as Peggy Sue Got Murdered, Thief of Hearts, Keeper of the Bride, etc then I would strongly advise looking on www.ebay.com the American eBay as I have bought many ofmy titles from here and including postage costs I have paid no more than 4 each. Once I read them I sold them on eBay for 8 so it makes it worth it. Its also handy to keep an eye out on Amazon and to google the titles and see what comes up. I would also recommend trying the local library and looking in their catalogues as many of my books have been from here and this is where I located Thief of Hearts.

If your so keen to read the 2 books: Love Masquerade and Adventure's Mistress, then i'm sorry to say that these are not and will not be re-published. The firm publishing these books closed down and did not make many at all for general release, if any for the public. This I was told by Tess Gerritsen herself as she replied to a letter I sent her. If anyone actually does find any then please let me know!!! However I very much doubt this!

Please rate this guide as helpful if you liked it and for a list and synopsis of this authors book check out my other review.

Home Break in Scams - Beware

Recently, I sold an old car for 100. The Buyer paid through paypal quickly and seemed almost "charming" on the phone. We arranged for him to pick up the car a week or so after the sale ended.

The day of the pickup, the buyer came to collect the car. He claimed he had taken the train approximately 100miles (for a 100 car?). I know I had described the car accurately and it was worth more than 100 even in parts. It was actually in excellent condition considering its age but I needed to get it off the street before the tax ran out.

My expectation was that the buyer would kick the tires a little, make sure he got what he paid for, sign the transfer document and leave. After all, it was already paid for. But instead he insisted we go into my home (which I refused to do). My dog didn't like him and I always trust my dog.

When I refused to allow the buyer into my home (there was no need, after all), he starting wobbling about whether he wanted to take the car away that day. It took me a second to realise he wasn't actually interested in the car, he was interested in what's in my home. Once I did realise the car wasn't his primary interest, my attitude towards him changed. I became quite blunt and told him he had already paid for the car so he can either take it away, or I'll send off the transfer documents without his signature and tell them he seemed a bit dodgey. As soon as the buyer realised I wasn't going to let him in and was getting annoyed, he left in a HUGE hurry.

It turns out I lived in a small town and the buyer had taken a local taxi company from the station. I tracked down the taxi driver who told me that the buyer had spoken to him during the drive, and said he was VISITING HIS GIRLFRIEND.

When I heard this I became very concerned and contacted the police. The buyer had been wearing a name tag that he said was from his work. I now believe this was part of the scam. Probably to support a fake identity?

The event was very strange and the buyer never ended up collecting the car. He left no feedback. He did not demand his money back. He just disappeared. A while later I mentioned my experiences to a friend who also uses Ebay. My friend said there are con artists who pretend to be interested in "pick up" items (items that require personal pickup due to their size). The con artists are prepared to invest a little cash in the potential of being able to enter your home (to sign transfer documents, etc.). Their real interest is in getting into your house, to rob it.

Please be very careful when you invite a strange buyer (or seller) into your home. I now make sure I am not alone. I have my dog with me at every moment (he's got excellent judgement) and if possible I even try to arrange for the item to be outside of my home if possible (ie on the driveway, front lawn), so that (a) my neighbours can see the transaction taking place, and (b) nobody enters my home except bonafide visitors and guests.

Fortunately (or unfortunately?) everything I own comes from either a carboot sale or Ebay. And I don't buy antiques (unless by accident). A burglar would be somewhat disappointed if they broke into my home. It's not worth the physical exertion... LOL. Nevertheless.... beware, be safe! I hope this info proves helpful to someone.

False descriptions, goods not as advertised.

During my several years on ebay I have come across items which on investigation are proven to be falsely described. Many times I have researched items only to find that the actual manufacturers of the components used do not actually make such things, so the description is purposely intended to mislead you into thinking you are buying something which does not really exist. I have also bought a few of these things personally. The worrying thing is that I have attempted to report these things to the support staff at ebay and (despite provable evidence being offered) there has been nothing done to remove the offending articles. More importantly, the type of adverts I'm talking about have increased in number many times over.I know that ebay is a business and as such must make profit, but the ethos behind ebay is being lost and it is becoming more risky to buy or sell while these things are allowed to continue, even when ebay staff are made aware of it. If you become aware of any advert which is misleading or purposely designed to advertise something which you know does not exist, report it to ebay. They are paid to deal with these things and they should do something to protect the honest folk from these unscrupulous con men. Don't allow the few to ruin it for the many.

Triple embossing with UTEE for ATCs, Cardmaking

This is my way of doing embossing or enamelling. I like to create the effect of enamel or glass tiles both smooth and with rubber stamped images.

To make an enamelled picture, embellishment, photo etc., I print the image onto self adhesive paper. I use my own kits for most of these images as they are printed on special permanent adhesive paper. However, with a bit of care you can print your own. Cut out the image and stick it onto a piece of mountboard. Do not use ordinary card stock and this will curl up and bend after a few hours. Mountboard can be purchased in many different colours so can be co-ordinated with the image you are embossing. Cut round the image but please leave a border, this is to stop the image curling up at the edge and the UTEE will secure it to the mountboard giving a good clean surface. Cover the picture side of the mountboard with embossing ink and then dip the mountboard into some CLEAR UTEE - ultra thick embossing enamel. Heat the surface of the tile until it melts(remember to use a baking sheet, heat resistant sheet on top of your cutting mat or surface), as soon as the powder has melted put it straight back into the powder and coat the surface again, heat again with the heat gun and do this once more. The third coating should be enough. Heat the third surface until it looks like glass and is completely smooth. That should be enough. You can always do another layer if you wish or even melt it again later and put another layer on. I rarely do more than 3 layers. Leave the tile to cool and you now have a lovely little embellishment that looks like an enamelled tile. This can be used as jewellery, in scrapbooking, perfect on ATCs and of course as embellishments for cards. They can also be used to decorate boxes, books, in fact the possibilities are endless.

If you wish to use the UTEE to rubber stamp with then again, this is how I do it. Take a piece of mountboard, remember that if you use coloured mountboard and clear UTEE then that will be the colour of your finished image. No need to use coloured UTEE unless you really want to. Cover the coloured side of the mountboard with embossing ink, dip it into the powder and heat, as soon as it has melted dip it in the powder again, do it a third time and possibly for rubber stamping a fourth time. At the final melt have a rubber stamp ready and after 2 or 3 seconds press the rubber stamp into the melted powder. Leave it for a short while to cool and then take the stamp off. You should be left with an impression of the stamp. You can use all of a stamp, a small part of a stamp or whatever you wish. The mountboard can be cut into sections after heating so you can use a stamped image and then cut it into sections which is an interesting way to try. When the image is cool, I take some rub ons, metallic ones are good and rub over the surface of the raised image. This can give a stunning effect and of course you can co-ordinate to your own ATCdesigns. If you make little tiles or tag shapes from UTEE - if you want to put ribbon or cord through to hang them or embellish them, make sure that you make a hole through the mountboard BEFORE you heat it, that way you can have even more versatility. You can even put an eyelet through before heating.

THE BIG CHINA GUITAR SCAM!!!

A big issue with fake "brand name" guitars has been growing on Ebay. The majority (about 95%) of these fake guitars have been coming out of China. You name it, Gibson, Epiphone, Fender, ESP, LTD, and list goes on. It is pretty easy to spot out this scam. Here are a few ways that you can spot them out,

1. The listing is from China

2. They give % discounts in shipping for larger purchases

3. They have many of the same listing over and over again with the same pictures from different sellers.

4. They are very broad about the guitar you are purchasing (if they mention anything about it whatsoever)

5. They talk about China's culture more then the guitar (I know, it's funny but TRUE)

6. They have private feedback (they do this because of people leaving feedback about being scammed)

7. They have ridiculously low selling prices (sorry, you can't get a new Gibson for $2.88)

8. Don't be fooled by them being verified, a powerseller, and or having an about me page!

9. Nine times out of ten, the guitar is in the wrong category

10. If you are still not sure about the authenticity of the guitar you will be purchasing, ask the sellers specific questions and follow your gut instincts.

Knowing full well that I was going to get scammed with a fake Les Paul even though the seller, again from China, stated it was the real deal, I purchased one to inspect the quality since our company sells guitars as well. Not to our surprise, the guitar was indeed a fake. A low quality fake at that. The finish was cheap, the tuners were student grade at best, the humbuckers were weak, the neck was not set in correctly, the inlays were sketchy, the hardware was junk, and the body was made from plywood! Not exactly a grade A Gibson huh?

PLEASE READ: It appears that the scammers are the only people who are not finding this guide helpful. This scam is effecting 100's of people daily. Please vote "Yes" for this guide below to help others from getting scammed and making the Ebay community even better!

Designing a Nursery/ Bedroom? - consider the following!

Having just stumbled across what I agreed to be sound advise regarding what to buy for a newborn, it brought back all sorts of memories!

I'd highly recommend any future parents consider:

a DIMMER SWITCH fitted whilst you're doing the decorating etc.Theglow fromthe plug in types are great to a limited extentbut, frompersonal experience, when you're looking for a dummy at 3am or your child has just been sick everywhere you need extra lighting that doesn't "blind" the child or you!
BLACK OUT BLINDS/CURTAIN LINERS - being honest never used them until this Spring when both my children had a room makeover and got "branded curtains" The curtains certainly matched the decor etc but you could literally see the light shining through. Theirwindows were unsuitable for blinds but theblack outliners are ace! - heat and light keptout in summer and warmth retained in winter! - their old curtains did have linings but weren't half as effective.
SOCKET COVERS - not neededinitially but consider as a "must have" item when your child gets to moving on their own!

Paypal insurance...

Just a quick mention, having read so many articles complaining at the uselessness of paypal etc. in protecting against fraud. I have been subject to fraud on larger items around 150-200 mark three times now. Suffice to say, ebay/paypal "insured" me and yet after everything, I was down each time, with paypal making me pay THEM back for my own money that someone had frauded. I spoke to a computer retailer recently who offered me this advice - "Paypal are pathetic and useless. Only use them if you know and trust the seller, read his feedback and scan him properly, paypal won't do anything except waste your time and put the criminal in the "right" - seriously, don't bother."So with that advice in mind, the moral of the story is to check the sellers/buyers yourself, check their feedback and so on before comitting to these "auctions" which at the end of the day, pump the paypal/ebay powerhouse more money, and less customer benefits each time...

High Density Memory

Ebay seems to have plenty of sellers offering High Density Memory Modules (RAM). Just a word of warning - the vast majority (perhaps 75%) of motherboards do not support this format and it will either be identified in the BIOS as half the amount that the RAM stick is supposed to be or the system will not boot up at all. High Density DDR is most common. If you are unsure, ask the seller if it is high density. The Seller is not obliged to make any refunds or similar in most cases as it is up to the buyer to make sure that components bought are compatible !!!Only if you are 100% certain your motherboard/computer supports High-Density modules should they be purchased. Per Megabyte of RAM it is often cheaper.... but most of the time, cost and added hassle/inconvenience of an incompatibility issue is not worth the risk - so just stick to normal RAM.

Fiat Radiator Fitting Guide For Novices

There are several things to remember when removing and refitting a Fiat radiator.

The first is the fragility of the unit. Most modern Fiat radiators are made from an aluminium centre core capped on both ends with plastic tanks.

Unlike the older copper and brass Fiat radiators they are not easily repaired and even the slightest nick in the aluminium core can render theFiat radiator useless.

The Fiat radiator plastic end tanks are also fairly fragile and great care should be taken to not knock the plastic locating pins.

NEVER remove a Fiat radiator cap from a Fiat radiator expansion tank or rFiat adiator whilst the engine coolant is still hot. Great pressure can build up in some Fiat radiator systems and the fitter must be sure that the engine and it's cooling system have had sufficent time to cool.

If your replacement Fiatradiatoris of copper and brass constructionbe careful not over tighten any threaded fittings such as the hole for the Fiat radiator fan switch. The fittings are only soft soldered into the Fiat radiator tank and can easily be broken if over tightened.

Care should also be taken when removing and refitting the Fiat radiator hoses on to the Fiat radiator pipes, again these fiitings are soft soldered and can form leaks if excessive force is used.

If your Fiat radiator has an inbuilt oil cooler with threaded fittings for the pipes ensure they are not cross threaded when attaching.

Always, always, always replace the anti freeze solution when refilling the Fiat radiator. The antifreeze also acts as engine coolant as it has a higher boiling temperature than water. Aways use the manufacturers recommended soultion and observe the correct ratio of water to anti freeze.

When you are confident that the Fiat radiator is fitted correctly and all pipes are sufficently tightened you will need to run the engine until it gets warm enough for the thermostat to open and circulate the water through the entire system. It is ESSENTIAL to remove any trapped are from the Fiat radiator cooling system as air expands greatly and can blow a Fiat radiator from the pressure build up.

It is advisable to set the heater temperature control to HOT as this will allow water to circulate through the unit. Do not switch the fan on as this will only slow the process of heating the system.

If you are in any doubt about removing or refitting a Fiat radiator you should leave it to your local garage or car radiator specialist.

Citroen Xantia Air Con Compressor Fitting Guide A/C AC

Buy Citroen Xantia A/C Compressors from 175.00 in our Ebay store. We have a vast selection of Citroen Xantia Air Con Compressors, new, reconditioned and remanufactured.

Below is a fitting guide for your convenience - Please give us a positive vote if it proves useful.

When a failed Citroen Xantia air conditioning compressor is replaced by a new Citroen Xantia a/c compressor, it is so important to have the lubricant distributed evenly across the Citroen Xantia air conditioning compressor and the Citroen Xantia a/c system before engaging the system for the first time.

If this is overlooked and the Citroen Xantia air con compressor is engaged immediately after is has been charged with refrigerant, it may happen that all the oil in the Citroen Xantia a/c compressor will be pushed out all at once while there is no oil yet to enter the Citroen Xantia air conditioning compressor on the other side. This is caused by the fact that it takes some time for the oil to spread across the system and mix with the refrigerant. Eventually the Citroen Xantia ac compressor may be damaged because of a lack of lubrication during the first few minutes of operation.

This will of course be more problematic after the system has been flushed, this will mainly be the case after the Citroen Xantia air con compressor has suffered a catastrophic failure with metal particles from the Citroen Xantia a/c compressor being spread across the entire system.

A rule of thumb guide when installing a new Citroen Xantia air con compressor is to manually turn the Citroen Xantia a/c compressor pulleyto make sure that the oil is distributed through the Citroen Xantia air con compressor evenly. Experienced engineers willnormally turn the Citroen Xantia ac compressor 1015 times to ensure that oil has been pushed around the system.

There is still more to do to prepare the Citroen Xantia air con compressor, knowing and following the procedure will be of great importance if a newly installed Citroen Xantia air conditioning compressor should fail after a short period of time and within its warranty period. There is no bigger disappointment than having a warranty claim denied because something as simple as the following procedure has been overlooked.

Generally new Citroen Xantia a/c compressors are supplied charged with oil, but it is always recommended that you check this by draining the new Citroen Xantia air con compressor to check the amount of oil in the Citroen Xantia air conditioning compressor.

Then once you have removed the old Citroen Xantia a/c compressor you should do the same again, empty the old Citroen Xantia ac compressor of oil to see how much oil was in it and then fill the new Citroen Xantia air con compressor with the same amount this is to avoid over charging the system with oil.

After this has been done and the Citroen Xantia a/c compressor has been fitted, you do not engage the Citroen Xantia air con compressor with the engine running until the following steps have been followed.

1, Open all air louvers at the dash board, 2, Start the engine and let it stabilise at idle speed 3, Set theblower at maximum speed, 4, Engage the Citroen Xantia a/c system and operate it continuously for 2 minutes at below1500 rpm.

After the two minutes the Citroen Xantia air con compressor oil will have distributed evenly throughout the Citroen Xantia a/c system.

Problem with seller MARDEXT

UPDATE NOTE: PARTIAL VICTORY FINALY....!!!! A CLAIM THROUGH SQUARETRADE WITHA FEE OF 29 BUCKS HAS MANAGED TO GET THIS NEGATIVE FEEDBACK REMOVED, BUT THE COMMENT LEFT BY THIS IDIOT IS STILL IN PLACE....AT LEAST I GOT MY MONEY BACK ANDI HADHIS NEG FEEDBACK REMOVED FROM MY SCORE. PLUS, MY NEG FEEDBACK IN HIS EBAY SCORE WILL REMAIN AND NEVER BE REMOVED NO MATTER WHAT THIS BUGGER DOES...!!!....JUSTICE AT A PRICE, BUT ITS SOMETHING....

READ BELOW THE DETAILS OF THIS BAD TRANSACTION TO LEARN ABOUT BAD EBAYERS AND HOW TO AVOID THEM:

This MARDEXT seller advertised an item on ebay.

I bought it.

I received something else (NOT THE ITEM DESCRIBED OR SHOWN IN THE AUCTION).

I emailedMARDEXT a few times and finaly got areplysaying' OH, I DID NOT KNOW THESE ARE NOT COMPATIBLE' ....!!!!

I asked for a replacement and the return postage costs payed since this was NOT my faultas he KNEW EXACTLY WHAT HE DID.

Got NO replyand after around 27 emails I decided to claim my money back from Paypal.

I made the claim and around 15 days later after which the seller ignored Paypalsclaim, they decided in my favour and gave me a refund.

GUESS WHAT ????....

This bugger left me this negative feedback : 'BEWARE SELLERS, REVERSED PAYMENT AFTER WE SHIP ITEM' ....!!!!

The nerve this bugger has...!!!....

I have since sent around 50 emails to eBay to get this defamatoryfeedback removed.

They keep sending me automated replies about how sorry they are my experience was bad and that they cant see anything wrong here, therefore they cannot remove the feedback...!!!

WOW...!!! ...eBay sure knows how to look into cases...!!!

They sure looked into this bugger because eBay then sent ME an email warning me for using 'profound language' in my follow up to this buggers neg feedback....!!!...I called him a 'prick' and I stand by this word.....HIS ACTIONS SHOW THAT KIND OF PERSON...!!!

But it seems eBay only cares about the powersellers...after all these are the people that make them money.....RIGHT ???

WRONG...!!! Ebay seems to forget that WE THE BUYERS are the ones who MADE EBAY WHAT IT IS...!!!

You can put on sale whatever you want, but unless people start buying, there is nothing happening....IT IS THE BUYERS WHO MADE EBAY SO POPULAR....

And it seems that we the buyers have little if NO protection from eBay AND from buggers like this MARDEXT fellow...

I dont care if this person has alot of positive feedback....its how he deals with the negatives he gets and what he does when there is a problem with a trasaction that makes me wonder how good an ebayer he is.

I am now trying to put togethera DEFAMATION CLAIM and send it to eBay...see what happens...but I hold little faith here.....eBay sent me another email yesterday telling me that 'since im registered with ebays CORE site, they are unable to remove this feedback'......WHAT A CROCK OF BALLONEY...!!!!

EBAY IS PLAYING WITH ME AND SIMPLY DONT WANT TO CARE ABOUT THIS CASE.....AFTER ALL, THIS IS WHAT THEY DO TO JUST ABOUT EVERY ONE WHO MAKES A CLAIM......EBAYS CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND JUSTICE SYSTEM SUCKS BIG TIME....

One last thing: if anyone has a look at this MARDEXT persons feedbackthey will notice that in EVERY SINGLE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK THEY GOT, THE SAME STORY IS HAPPENING: MARDEXT DOES NOT RESPOPND TO EMAILS WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH A TRANSACTION.

FEAST ON THIS YOU LAZY EBAY CUSTOMER SERVICEEMPLOYEES...!!!

Im not going to give up on this.

One way or another im going to have this false negative feedback removed.

Buying a pram or buggy? Save money, first time mums!!

Is this your first baby? do you anticipate any more in the future would be the first thing I would ask! When pregnant with my first child, the thought on any future babies did not enter my mind as I got caught up in the excitement of buying for first baby. I feel that if I had thought more carefully then I could ahve saved myself a lot of money. Soon after the birth of my son, I decided to try for another, obviously this is the case with a lot of people as most mums at toddler groups have similar age gaps to myself, anything between 1 and 3 year age gaps. So babykins is just hitting 2 and Ive now a new born, hence need for double buggy now! If I had thought more about the future when I was pregnant first time around I would have purchased a pushchair with an attachable toddler seat, or at least a model that in the future I could fit one to, with paces like ebay it is fairly easy to source these accessories even a couple of years on ut if the pram you choose doesn't have that feature then like me it is back to the shops. My initial pram didnt get the use I had hoped for (and paid for) and then I had to fork out for another one which then only got used for about a year until my eldest was walking, then it was back to the intial buggy for another year, but many people do not have the luxury of storage for numerous prams or may have to sell one to buy another. There are also other things to take into account, so you know your having a girl for example, tempting as it may be to buy a pink buggy/moses basket/bedding and car seat. Think ahead as you cant use them for the son you may be having in a year or two! And vice versa. The best way to save money is to try to buy as neutral equipment as possible that can do both sexes, these can easily be colourised by use of blankets and toys etc for the sex of your child. And please think carefully about what pram or pushchair you decide on. I looked at all the baby best buys books and reviews and althogh I got lots of advice and ideas there was never any comments on considering future children. Think and save money......Hope this helps a little.

Free SIM unlock codes!

I just read some reviews about to not buy unlocking codes from sellers on eBay as you can download this software free from the net. Nothing but the true, but the one who write this guide don't knowone little detail, you must know to use the software to make it generate the right code.I'm the only one on eBay how give free asistance to unlock your phone and i guaranted that codes work on any phonesfrom my list. It's true i get 1 negative and one neutral feedback but because one buyer don't know to read well, and other one do not ask for my assistance. everybody who ask for assistance give me a positive feedback, many buyers don't leave feedback for no reason, maybe they don't call for assistance or they forget to do it.

If you want to unlock your phone try the google to search for codes, but you will not find out how to get the real code for your phone, that is a fact

Do not trust in Samsung universal unlock code ( temporary unlock ) you can get your phone death or freeze, then you will pay 50 quid to repair it.

UK Customs Charges For Goods Purchased Outside The EU

If you are living in the UK and purchase an item from outside the EU you need to be aware of possible customs charges. The value of incoming goods that are duty free has been setat 18.00. If you purchase an item from overseas that has a value of more than this you may (if they spot your parcel in customs - they can't possibly check every one) face additional charges from customs and the carrier that delivers your parcel to you.

If your item(s) exceed 18.00 they will take this amount, ADD ON the postage and charge you duty on this total amount. The carrier will then charge you a customs clearance fee on top. They will require the duty and fees from you on the doorstep before they hand over the parcel.

This charging system and the small value of goods we are allowed to import is not advertised well and most people only find out about it when a postal delivery representative arrives with a parcel and a bill. I hope this information is useful to someone and if I've got any of the figures wrong please let me know so I can make appropriate changes.

Newbies on EBAY a tounge in cheek guide

Welcome to EBAY.

WARNING this IS addictive lol. this is a guide to newbies from a newbie.Firstly, don't make the mistake of bidding on everything you see lol its like kiddies in a candy shop, even if you really do HAVE the money to buy it all at once it does get very confusing (personal experience lol). Equally, as a seller its wise to pace yourself, 100 items in the first week will get confusing (lol again from personal experience). Its a good idea toset up a paypal account befor you start shoping on Ebay, there are some great sellers out there who ONLY accept paypal. if for ANY reason you cannot pay the seller within 7 days (or earlier if specified on the item discription) ALWAYS contact, a seller would rather know that you are having problems and that they WILL get their money. if you have a good Ebay feedback score a good seller will most likely wait a few days for honest delays.

wether you are a buyer or a seller, read feedback objectively, if someone has great feedback with just a few negative comments, look at the feedback of the person leaving the negative feedback, and be aware that negative feedback is often more a result of 2 hard-headed people, trust your instincts.

feedback is a life force on ebay, be sure as a seller to leave appropriate feedback as soon as you recieve payment. as a buyer please be polite enough to leave feedback as soon as you have recieved and are happy with the item. if the event of any kind of dispute, its always worth trying to sort it out befor leaving negative feedback, often negective will only get you negative, deserved or not.

so...here you are, in the wonderfull land of EBAY, your journey here will be amazing, will suppass all your dreams, will show you things you never knew you wanted and often never even knew existed, be safe, only shop within your own personal means, treat other EBAYERS as you'd like to be treated

and most importantly.....HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!

Invest with Ebay

If your like me, you can't seem to save money and even the loose change jar gets raided now and then. This guide is intend toshow how ebay can helpwith this problem.

The problem with saving is that its so often detached from the real world. It's difficult to see those numbers or bits of paper as anything but numbers and bits of paper.

I recently started a business and found myself running it like my life. Every penny gets spent. Then I began to remember all those wise people who told me if you want to get ahead you must invest. I'll invest in the business I thought! yer right! thats crap unless your talking serious money, all I had was a few quid a week.

After much delibaration I decided to invest money buying something which appreciates in value but requires little investment. What, I didn't know. Finally in desparation I looked at all those crap get rich scemes on ebay and while searching I saw an old 10 bob note for sale for a couple of quid. Thats got to go up in value and it's cheap so I brought it.

8 months on, I've got a new hobby collecting bank notes. My collection must be worth over 1500 now and I've got no intention of cashing in. Infact I can't wait for spare cash now so that I can indulge my new hobby further. I don't even think about saving money now, my problem is tring to cerb the amount I spend on saving money.

You may not be turned on by bank note but if you look around on ebay you'll find something I'm sure.

THANK FOR READING MY GUIDE!

How to tie a Bandana

Wecomt to a guide from Blaque_UK of how to tie a bandana. A recieve a lot of questions of how to tie bandanas and du-rags correctly so here is what to to do

How to tie a bandana

1) Grab your bandana and fold it in half diagonally.
Drape the resulting triangle around your neck, with the center point down your back.

2) Bring the two corners together a couple of inches back from your hairline and tie in a single overhand knot. Make sure the tops of your ears are covered, and make it snug - you don't want your bandana sliding up the back or the front of your head.

3) Hang on to the knot with one hand so it doesn't come undone, and with the other hand grab the center point and pull it up over the back of your head so the point comes just past the knot. Be careful, sometime the fabric folds in on itself or grabs itself and if you pull too hard too fast it'll just pull the whole thing up the back of your head. Lay the point you just pulled up over the center of the knot. This is where three hands come in handy, but you can do it. Use a couple of fingers to hold the point down, and tie the knot again (make sure it's a square knot, and not a granny!), catching the point in the knot.

4) If you think your bandana might slide up the back, use a couple of clips or bobby pins to secure it to your hair.

5) If the knot has a tendency to slide backwards, consider snagging some of your hair in the knot (just be careful when you take it out). Or if you'd prefer, use a couple of pins, just try to make sure they don't show.

BEWARE, PAYPAL Not As Safe As I Thought

In May 2006, I sold a pair of Training Shoes to 'samina_24' who, once the item had been received and Good Feedback stating that the item was received, did a runner.

PAYPAL e-mailed me a 'Reversal of funds' notification, telling me that I had unautherised funds in my PAYPAL Account.

It turned out that 'samina_24' (Rukshar Aslam from Leeds) had registered with PAYPAL using someone elses Credit Card, the funds (46) had to be returned to the rightful card holder

The Police say there is not a lot I can do about it, the crime was commited against the card holder and I should talk to PAYPAL as it is a Civil matter, this I have done but believe me, it's like trying to get blood out of a stone. Meanwhile, Rukshar's off to the Market or Car Booty with my trainers. It's not just me that was stitched up by Rukshar, he managed to complete 24 transactions in a 4 day trading period before being stopped by Ebay. Rukshar Aslam is now indefinately suspended.

The most irritating thing is thay PAYPAL allowed themselves to be conned and have just passed it on to me.

Buying or Selling, I willNEVER use PAYPAL again. hd21563

Royal Mail Pricing Changes PiP as of 21st August 2006

Royal Mails Pricing in Proportion (PiP) initiative comes into effect on 21st August 2006, changing the criteria for pricing mail from weight alone to a combination of size, weight and volume. Here is some information from us to help you plan for the change.PiP will be three categories:1. A Letter is up to 165x240mm, up to 5mm thick, up to 100g. This includes DL and C5 envelopes.2. A Large Letter is up to 250x353mm, 25 mm thick, up to 750g. This includes most C4 items.3. A Packet is either longer than 353mm or wider than 250mm or thicker than 25mm or heavier than 750g. Our main advice is "Dont Panic!" While this is a significant change, over 80% of mail will cost the same or less to send. The main potential area of change is the price incentive to encourage users to move from C4 to C5/DL. There will be a 12p premium for sending a C4 (44p*) versus a C5 or DL (32p) and Royal Mail is suggesting letters are folded to save money. As C4 envelopes represent a significant and valuable part of the envelope market, it is not in any of our interests to play up this part of PiP. For the average office sending out a few C4s a day, is the saving that can be made by folding documents really worth the damage to image and impact that this creates? There is likely to be inertia, with customers not bothering to change mailing format, so lets not accelerate any change! On a more positive note, there will be real savings to be made on heavier mailings. For example, mailing a C4 envelope with a 350 page A4 catalogue as a Large Letter weighing 520g will cost 1.31 instead of 2.15. This creates the opportunity to mail 165 customers with a catalogue for the same price as previously mailing 100!Visit www.royalmail.com/pipsizeguide to obtain templates and for more general information visit www.royalmail.com/pip.All rates quoted are for First Classstamps from 21st August 2006.My Envelopes and Packing Supplies:All my Packing Supplies Manilla Envelopes White Envelopes Board Back Envelopes Summary.Envelopes carry your company's image a well as your documents - it is important you choose the correct envelope. ipods from china

BE WARNED,

Ifeel i should write this as ebay do not seem to be doing anything about it.

Have you noticed that there are alot of ipods up for grabs at stupidly low buy it now prices?

I have. not all of them are scams, but i have noticed that most of them are new members, all have 10 pieces of feedback ( which are just generated by other duff members) and become non registered users just after they have taken your hard earned.

hope this helps.

come on ebay sort this out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caution to buyers

Be cautious when bidding for items that are not fully described. Coins and medallions should state the size, composition and related year. Gold Filled means rolled gold. If it is stated "18k" ask for the country of manufacture (try and stand by British Assay marks) Some nefarious Chinese put "18k" on gold plated copper (I have been caught twice). There are reasons a seller will not give a full description of an item. Two items running at this time states "New antique ...........". How can you have a NEW antique. There are also some listings that state "24 carat Gold......" Not in Britain there are not. 24 carat is Pure Gold and too soft for manufacturing purposes. The most common is the listings that have no description but the description box is filled with the sellers terms. Ask many questions

Addition. Some sellers often state "Hallmarked" and display a stamp on the item. This is sometimes the townmark especially continental Silver. A good investment is The Book of Old Silver by Seymour B Wylie. A hallmark in Britain, and sometimes former members of the British Empire. means the marks made by theassay office. Anchor for Birmingham, Leopards head for London, etc.this will be followed by a Lion Guardant for silver, or a Crown and number (9 or 18 for old gold or 375) in the same box. Then a letter mark to signify the year. On silver and gold items you will sometimes find the 'Duty Mark' of the sovereign or Britannia for pre-George 1 period.

(Added 01/08/2008) As a 'Retired Silversmith' I am quite astonished at the number of sellers that PERSIST in describing their item as "Hallmarked silver" when the item is merely stamped '925' This is NOT a Hallmark. A hallmark is the mark of the Goldsmiths Guild and the local Assay Office. It is a box containg a number relative to the content of Goldor silver called "The Milesmil mark" signifying the fineness of the metal in parts per thousand. This is contained with a box (or Oval) for Gold it is375, 585,750, 916,990,999. For Silver it is 800, 925, 958, 999. For Platinum it is 850, 900, 950, 999. This is then followed by the Assay Office (in Britain) A leopard for London, An Anchor for Birmingham, A Rose for Sheffield, and a Castle for Edinburgh.

These silver Items Merely stamped '925' are made by the manufacturer and to pass them off as Silver, To describe the as Silver in the main is untrue. So if they do not carry a Hallmark and an Assay Office mark. DO NOT BID AS SILVER. It can be Fraud.

How To Add Sky Digital To Another Room Or Bedroom

How to add sky digital to another room or a bedroom without having to pay extra subscription fees or having to run up and down the stairs changing channels.

Using my method youll be able to have digital upstairs and be able to change over the stations from upstairs. You wont however be able to watch different from your downstairs connection or be able to record unless your sure no one will turn it over on you from the other room as its all run from the same box and connection.Youll be amazed at just how easy it is to do.I know I was.And all it cost me was approx 50.00 pounds. At the most.

If you decide to follow my Instructions and step to step guide you should have as I have a crystal clear picture both up and down stairs on both Televsions,as well as be able to change the television over from either up or down stairs.

YOU MUST ALSO BE AWARE YOU ARE UNDERTAKING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK AS IM NOT THERE FITTING IT FOR YOU

THIS IS LIKE ANY OTHER DIY IF IT DOES NOT WORK FOR YOURS LIKE IT DIDMINE MOST SUCCESSFULLY I HAVE TO ADD HENCE THATS WHY IM DOING THIS ITS ALL DOWN TO YOU.HENCE YOU ARE THEREFORE LIABLE FOR ANY BREAKAGES OR COSTS.THIS MUST BE UNDERSTOOD RIGHT FROM THE START.

I am doing this step to step guide as when I tried to find out info on the subject it took me hours and I had to go to various sites as not one covered the subject from start to finish as mine does. And in full detail.I will also tell you where you can get the bits from and a approx price so youll know what youll need before you start etc.It only took me an hour to fit to from start to finish.Might even take you less.

My digi box is pace and my house is old that is why ive had to do it the way I have you may have a easier way but I also have chicken wire running through my walls which caused a lot of interference. So this was easiest from me.Okay enough of the sell and boring stuff down to business.

Check All Your Connections

Check the back of your digibox there you should see two scart sockets, one goes into your television if you dont run a video as I dont your other one should be free,if not dont worry as a kitI will tell you about later on has a scart splitter in it you can use. Also check to see if the connection right next to your outside ariel is free if not youll also need a splitter for that, but usually they are free,as if your sky is run like mine through a scart this connection is of no use anyway.Nor do you need a ariel connection to the outdoors as all of the stations are usually on Sky Digital anyway. The two Connections you will need to use if you do it my way is the top scart connection on the digibox and the connection next to the outdoor ariel,do not touch anything at this point you dont need to.

NEXT

Youll need to go into your system set up on your Sky Digibox via your remote control unit and your television screen. All of mine are as Follows:Picture Format:- 4:3 Second location Picture Fromat - 4:3

Scart Control - ON Video Output - RGB Contrast - Medium

Search and scan Timeout - 5 Seconds On Screen Timeout - OFF

Message Alert - ON

My contrast is on Medium as I suffer less interference this way.Now you have checked all that out your ready to go and buy your bits.

When is a Seller Not a Seller?

... When they are a "non-performing seller".Seller non-performance is when a person wins an eBay auction, and the seller then decides not to complete to auction. I think many people just accept this, but it is against eBay rules, and you can and should take action against these people who abuse the eBay system.WHAT DOES THE EBAY POLICY ACTUALLY SAY?I am now going to paraphrase the eBay policy on Seller Non-Performance."When a seller lists an item on eBay, and a buyer bids for and wins that item, the seller and buyer have entered into a contract. Both members are expected to honour that contract. In accordance with that contract, the seller may not: 1) Fail to deliver an item for which payment was accepted. 2) Significantly misrepresent an item by not meeting the terms and item description outlined in the listing. 3) Refuse to accept payment for an item at the end of a successful sale. 4) State in their listings that PayPal payments made via credit card will not be accepted."So, if you are the winner of an auction - the seller MUST accept payment (the amount you won the auction for) and deliver the item to you (or allow you to collect it - whatever is specified in the listing).SO WHY DO SELLERS DO THIS?Generally, the reason sellers do this is because the listing did not reach a price that they wanted - they feel like they haven't made enough money from the auction and so try to stop the completion of the contract they have entered into.Sellers may make excuses like "the item was advertised outside of eBay and someone bought it", or "someone offered me more money than the final eBay selling price" or "my personal reserve on the item was higher than the price you paid". These excuses are just that - EXCUSES. DO NOT ACCEPT THEM.Ebay rules also state that items listed for auction may not be sold outside of eBay. This is to protect buyer and seller, and prevent the seller from circumventing the eBay fee structure. The seller is perfectly able to put a real reserve on the listing to prevent it selling for less than they want, and if a seller does not use this facility that eBay provides then they forfeit the right to decline a sale.Check seller feedback! If you see a few negatives, or neutrals, read them - take a little time to have a thorough check. You will often find that these sellers have been non-performers on one or more occassions. If you see non-performer-type feedback (even if it has been mutually withdrawn), think twice about bidding on the seller's items!!!!WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT?First, contact the seller and tell them that their excuses are not good enough, and that by listing an item for auction and letting it run to its completion that they are entering into a binding contract and they MUST complete the sale. Try to be civil, even though it is very frustrating!!!!If this does not help, do try a few more times - there is always the possibility that you can come to an agreement. Sometimes the seller will not know that they are breaking the rules - in which case they will have to learn to get it right the next time! DO NOT leave the seller negative feedback yet - this often leads to you both having negative feedback, and sometimes agreeing to mutually withdraw it. This is often the end of proceedings and the seller will have got away with it!Finally, you can use the "report a seller" link at http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html. You will need to send all e-mail communications with full headers as evidence. But please do not be deterred by having to do this. If the report is succesful, then the seller will be penalised. The actions eBay may take include: Listing cancellation Limits on account privileges Account suspension Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings Loss of PowerSeller status The more we report non-performing sellers, the more seriously eBay will take it. I'm sure you'll agree that it is very frustrating to think you have got a bargain on eBay (fairly and within the rules), then only to have it taken away from you by a seller who is breaking eBay rules.I AM A SELLER - WHAT CAN I DO IF I DON'T WANT TO SELL THE ITEM?Well.... Put a reserve on it using the reserve tool that eBay provide. If worst comes to worst then you can cancel the listing at any time from the My eBay page. If you want an item to sell for more than a certain price, use the reserve tool, or use buy it now. Do not think you can get away with cancelling the sale after the auction has been won!I hope you found this guide helpful - if you disagree with anything here, or would like to contact me, please feel free to get in touch!

O2 X2/X3 DONT DO IT!!!

I bought a brand new o2 x2 phone for myself from a local o2 shop, within a couple of months the phone completely broke, it wouldnt work at all, it wasnt worth the money at all. My friend who happens to work in one of the o2 mobile phone shops has recently told me that they are very badly made.
same goes for the o2 x3!!!
If my brand new x2 phone didnt work just think what your buying on here! at least from a shop there a guarantee and the option for insurance on it!
IF YOU NEED TO BUY AN X2 PHONE MAKE SURE ITS INSURED!!!!!!
